antlers

someday when everything falls apart and we go back to the stone age and cull the herds of Clevelandian deer to feed and clothe ourselves, I'll rediscover the art of scrimshaw and non-kitschy-western hunting decor.

I kind of want to make my own lusterweibchen now...

on a similar note...
Legend has it St. Eustace saw a vision of the crucifix in a deer's antlers
Shane Wilson also does some swanky bone sculptures out of antlers, bone, and bronze. There's something very ancient-feeling about this stuff that I dig muchly...

  1. ZOMG your blog is sooooooo weird. And you best be leaving the deer alone, tussling with those sparrows for cheese doodles instead.
