you said you'd wait til the end of the world

The Duchess is always amused by the varied and sundry theoreticals about the end of the world as we know it and so greets the new year with less trepidation than most, with the exception of the doors of the new dacha, which due to their age remain locked in a most frustrating fashion and is therefore biding time with a pair of Freya's felines and a feisty canine from the horde of Anubis.

While others imbibe and make social calls, the Duchess sees no need to celebrate the new year in uncomfortable or unfitting fashion and will be drinking tea and unpacking the boxes to swanky tuneage, because being an esteemed member of the Peonage means that she is uninterested in ordering others around for the hell of it.

Anyways, this corner of the Internets, as planned right now, will be a compendium of all things that yours truly is intrigued by updated whenever. When yours truly first started in blogland, it was post-teen angst of livejournalia and the regional-personal musings of rustbeltness, yet the longer that I reside within the borders of Clevelandia, the outside world becomes all the more intriguing, and being ever pessimistic, the Duchess regrets any associations with MachineGunKellyOMGTwitter hashtags or certain positivistic types who harbor irrationally mirthful provincial musings on overpriced food, mediocre local bands, and getting buzzed at yuppie bars. Being an introvert and not a Bright Young Thing, a break had to be made.

There is so much beauty in this world, and so much strange and absurd. To capture a bit of the sublime and the ridiculous both here and afar seems like a worthy attempting.
