all my life, once bit twice

Redacted frustration at the other end of the gender spectrum, wondering what it is about this generation I'm in, because we're terrible at relating to each other, stuck in this neutral gear for way too long. I thought things would get better when we all grew up but I guess we didn't, the great minds don't get destroyed by madness so much as they burn out or pull up stakes for better climes, leaving behind all these manchildren entertained to death, who may or may not have alcohol problems that need some intervention, or where I feel so damn old because I'm actually paying attention to more than the party line or the next new band or that next night at the bar.

I like the balance of power to be equal and not to feel like I'm the older one the stronger one even though we're the same age and all. Some happy medium between youthfulness and maturity, between seriousness and absurdity, neither working to death or not working at all, some sense of the spiritual without the sanctimony, this is getting old and so are you.
